Our Literature Ministry always plays an important role in the Light of Resurrection Mission. A book is a powerful tool for influencing the heart of a person. Therefore, we are very careful about choosing authors, especially especially for pastoral sets; these books are Puritan and Reformed authors. For evangelistic literature, we also purchase books by other authors, but with sound biblical teaching.
Our principles in the distribution of books are:
Respect for a Book (we do not distribute literature to all and sundry, but target our distribution)
A book should find its reader (specially selected thematic books)
Make a book accessible (many Christians in Ukraine because of their poverty cannot afford quality literature)
The books we offer should display God's glory and the beauty of the Gospel.
We share our books in several different ways :
1. Pastor Education: Distributing sets of books for pastors and ministers. In this way we want to influence healthy church communities. A healthy minister leads to a healthy church.
2. War Zone Ministry: Sharing books to those in Eastern Ukraine in the ‘war zone’.
3. Evangelism: Sharing the Gospel with unbelievers in prisons and on the streets through books.
4. Libraries: Sharing our books with public libraries and church libraries.
The difficult military situation in some regions of Ukraine has caused us to make adjustments to our ministry. Especially in demand at the moment are books that teach us how to forgive each other, how to go through the "valley of weeping," and find comfort in the Lord while going through it. We work a lot in the front-line zone, supporting and encouraging pastors who serve there as well as people who are forced to live in this difficult situation and suffer the deprivations of war. The churches in the front-line zone are on suffering and all believers and ministers need strengthening and support. As we comfort others, we ourselves will be comforted by the Lord (2 Corinthians 1: 3-7). This ministry is accompanied by sharing personal testimonies and the distribution of literature.
Each of these areas needs specially selected literature. Now the Lord helps us to cover the need for books for pastoral sets, but we lack financial resources for evangelistic books and books for street and church libraries. We pray for this. We also plan to spread influence through books through theological educational institutions and seminaries.
