EVANGELISM & OUTREACH

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
— Isaiah 61:1

The passion to reach the lost exhibited by many believers and churches in Eastern Europe is remarkable. COAH is privileged to get behind a number of imaginative and compassionate ministries in Eastern Europe which are spreading the gospel of salvation in Christ Jesus, especially to the down-and-out and ignored sectors of society.

In addition to the evangelistic ministries described elsewhere (elderly, children and youth, rehabilitation etc.), a major ministry COAH supports is prison ministry. Many pastors regularly visit correctional institutions to preach the gospel that liberates and gives true freedom. Several ministry workers also visit hospitals to bring the Word of life to the infirmed and needy.

Another huge need which has created opportunity for evangelism is the refugee crisis precipitated by the war in Eastern Ukraine. Several churches have reached out to those fleeing the ravages of the war with material help and the gospel.
