Nearly every year, Pastor Jerry Farnik and his wife Marilyn organize a Biblical Counselling conference just outside of Prague, in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is one of the most secular countries in the world, and there is a desperate need for sound, Biblical counselling. Come Over & Help partnered with the Farniks to help make the conference happen. Nearly 150 people gathered together for a time of encouragement, fellowship, and equipping.

Training for the Whole Family
While adults attended the main sessions, another team organized a lively program for children and youth, ensuring the entire family could benefit from the week. Parents expressed deep gratitude that their children were being cared for and discipled while they received training themselves.
Addressing Hard Questions
This year’s conference theme was “Biblical Counselling and Medicine”. We were privileged to welcome Dr. Jim Newheiser and Dr. Charles Hodge as guest speakers. Their teaching was warmly received and much appreciated by all in attendance. Together, they tackled some of the most challenging issues Christian counsellors often face – such as post-traumatic stress, bipolar disorder, worry, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and addictions.
Equipped to Serve
Participants left encouraged and better prepared to walk alongside those who are hurting, pointing them to the hope and healing found in Christ through His Word. Many expressed that the sessions not only deepened their understanding but also provided them with practical tools for ministry in their churches and communities.
